We woke up to heavy rain and a forecast of showers throughout the day, but we just got the waterproofs on and went for it anyway. As usual the quality of the food on display at a proper French market had us slevering!
By the time we got to the market the rain had gone off and it actually stayed off the
whole time we cycled round the lake, it was however quite cold.
The cycle route was a mixture of cycle paths and road on the east side of the lake but was all dedicated cycle path on the way back along the west shore, much of it on an old railway line.
Despite the weather, the views were still pretty spectacular (except in the tunnel).
We stumbled across some sort of local farmers show on our way back but didn’t find a lakeside restaurant which took our fancy, which was probably just as well as the heavens opened just as we got back to Annecy. We just had time to get the bikes locked up and find ourselves a cosy restaurant for a long lunch until the weather improved again.
Forecast for tomorrow is better so we’ll see how that goes.
